June 2015 at Outloud

This month Outloud Open Mike @ The Beebe Estate in Melrose features acoustic guitarists Bill Morris and Dan Holabaugh on Wednesday, June 24th. Morris — a local fingerstyle classical soloist and guitarist for the Arlington based Wicked Pickers — teamed up with Holabaugh within the past year to explore bluegrass and jazz. Holabaugh — originally from Pennsylvania with stints in LA and Upstate NY — took a renaissance and eclectic approach to instrumental music before focusing on bluegrass guitar and the occasional vocal number. Together they play an array of bluegrass, jazz, and country, their collaboration characterized by unique and stunning arrangements in both originals and established works.

Sign up for the open mike starts @ 7:15pm — open mike slots begin @ 7:30pm. Each performer gets 10 minutes or 2 songs to fill with fun and wonder. Outloud’s creative environment promotes a wonderfully receptive and respectful atmosphere for all of its performance and audience alike.

Outloud meets in the Beebe Estate’s art exhibit space at 235 West Foster Street in Melrose, Massachusetts. Visit beebeestate.com for more information about the space, for directions and other details. Free parking is available on the grounds.

Although Outloud does not charge a cover to get in, we gracefully accept donations to help support local charities and help cover our operating expenses.
