The next Outloud at the Beebe Open Mike for poetry, prose, and music is this Wednesday, May 26.  Sign up is at 7:15 p.m. and the open mike starts at 7:30 p.m.  Each performer is allotted 10 minutes.  Creative atmosphere is receptive and respectful.  In the Beebe Estate's art exhibit space, 235 West Foster, Melrose ( beebeestate.org ). Parking is available on the grounds.

The month's featured performers are Kirsten & Dave ( kirsten-dave.com ), whose spirited melodies ... originals and covers ... traverse styles from acoustic and folk to country/bluegrass to blues. Kirsten & Dave's first studio CD, "Dreams That Just Won't Let Go," was released in October 2006 and "Things You Learn," their second CD, was released in March of 2009.  They were finalists on the 2007 season of Community Auditions, and they play regularly at a variety of venues in and around the Boston area.

There is no cover, but donations are accepted.  Donations support local charities and help cover expenses.
